Study in the Ireland

Pursuing studies in the Ireland

If you are planning to go to Ireland for further studies and are worried about the costs that entail, here we are to assist you look for scholarships and financial aid opportunities to fund your education. Irish Government and Irish Universities offer a range of scholarships that Indian students can take advantage of.

What is the amount of money required?

Some scholarships provide full funding from tuition to living expenses. In contrast, some of them or most of them offer an amount that is significant but does not cover the whole cost as mentioned before there are scholarships by both the New Zealand Government and Universities. It is quite obvious that because of a large number of applicants, the government scholarships are a lot more competitive than the university scholarship. The whole scholarship process can take a while. So, it is advisable to prepare and apply around 8-12 months before your intake.

Although there are individual scholarship opportunities at Irish Universities for Indian students, these are some common scholarships to look for, in Ireland.

1. Scholarships by International Education Ireland Government

There are ample benefits in these scholarships for students who want to pursue 1 year study grant for UG, PG or PhD degrees. The benefits are:

  • 10,000 Ireland dollars stipend is provided for a year

  • Tuition fees that is fully funded

2. Fellowship by Walsh

  • It’s for PG degree holder individuals who are working primarly in agricultural, environmental, economical research projects.

  • There are 30 new places which are provided a grant of 30,000 Irish currency for every student. This is for the period of 2 years of Masters Degree which will be preferable if it is at Teagasc Research Centre. Also applies for a Doctoral Degree

  • The invitations for applications are in every June, and the deadline extends to early-September. This does not include a non-research postgraduate degree, that is why applications are not accepted from individual PG student.

  • Application deadline: Every Year 10th September

3. Scholarships by the Government of Ireland Postgraduate

Funded by the famous department of education and skills this Government of Ireland postgraduation is managed by the Council, this scholarship opens for all the foreign international students around the world to pursue their MS in research and PhD or direct PhD. The amount includes: -

  • €16,000 stipend calculated annually

  • €5,750 which is an aid and a contribution of fees which includes non-EU fees on an annual basis.

  • €2,250 provided on an annual basis for the direct research expense to all the students.
