What is the amount of monetary aids?

Some scholarships provide full funding from tuition to living expenses. At the same time, some of them or most of them offer an amount that is significant but does not cover the whole cost as mentioned before there are scholarships by both the New Zealand Government and Universities. It is quite obvious that because of a large number of applicants, the government scholarships are a lot more competitive than the university scholarship. The whole scholarship process can take a while. So, it is advisable to prepare and apply around 8-12 months before your intake.
 

Keep in mind that many Kiwi universities have some scholarships, especially for Indian students. Be sure to look for them.

Following is a list of popular scholarships in New Zealand:

1. Scholarships by New Zealand International Doctoral Research

Students from India who want to pursue courses from New Zealand may achieve this scholarship which is funded by non-other than the Government. Your perks included in this scholarship are full funded college fees, a living stipend (ranging up to $25,000 tax-free), student miscellaneous expenses, health insurance cover and others for up to 3 years.

2. Scholarships by the New Zealand Commonwealth

Only those who want to enroll in masters or doctoral course are eligible for this scholarship. The plan covers all the allowances including tuition fees, miscellaneous and more.

Your benefits under this scholarship include :

  • Complete tuition fees expense

  • Allowance of $491 in NZ currency for living.

  • $3000 in NZ as setup cost allowance

  • Medical, research and travel costs allowances

3. Awards by New Zealand Excellence

This award displays scholarships among all eight institutions and offers an opportunity to students for exploring New Zealand’s excellence in many fields for students.

Education New Zealand and New Zealand universities fund this scholarship. The postgraduate programs have a total of 28 scholarships and the undergraduate programs have 3 scholarships. The amount received in this scholarship is NZD 5,000 for the postgraduate program and NZD 10,000 for the undergraduate program.

4. Scholarships by New Zealand Global Alliance

Only those who want to enroll in masters or doctoral course are eligible for this scholarship. The plan covers all the allowances including tuition fees, miscellaneous and more.

It consists of the following benefits in a course span of 3 years :

  • $10,000 NZ dollars tuition fees

  • The stipend of $28,000 for covering expenses

  • $700 annual medical insurance

  • $1000 visa application cost.

  • Airfare upon coming to New Zealand upto a maximum amount of $6000 NZD.

  • Allowances for research of about $1500.

5. Scholarships by SEG

This scholarship is one that is funded one by Soshi educational group, eventually encouraging applicants to study geosciences and geophysics during their undergraduate years, A and B type scholarships and certificate programs for C scholarships

  • Amount of scholarships

  • Scholarship A: $7000 NZ dollars annually

  • Scholarship B: $5000 NZ dollars annually

  • SEG Scholarship C: $3000 NZ dollars annually

  • Duration of this aid is for a year

  • For every academic year, applications shall be available from 1st November.

6. Scholarships by Palmerstone North City Mayors Goodwill ambassador program

This council sponsors these scholarships for promoting Palmerston North as a location for studying to international students. It is available for all undergrads, postgrads, career-based courses.

  • $1000 NZ dollars scholarship value is provided to the eligible students.
